Dr. LeAnn Romans-Nichols

Dr. LeAnn Romans-Nichols was set to go to trucking school to become a long-haul truck driver like her father but took a detour into veterinary medicine instead. She has cared for pets as a general practitioner at Canyon Pet Hospital since June 2008. A native of Fountain Hills, Dr. Romans-Nichols attended Northern Arizona University, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2000. She went on to attend Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Her professional interests include cardiology, herbal medicine and acupuncture. Dr. Romans-Nichols has completed continuing education in dentistry through Colorado State University and is a certified veterinary acupuncturist through the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association. In the future, she hopes to challenge her veterinary skills by working with unique species in a variety of settings.

Dr. Romans-Nichols and her husband, Scott, who is also a veterinarian, are the proud parents of three sons. The family also includes three dogs, Honeydog, Kilgore Trout and Hopper, a cat named Pegleg and a nameless turtle. When she's not at the hospital, she enjoys running, hiking, playing with her dogs and spending time with her family.
