Dr. Julianne Miller

Dr. Julianne MillerDr. Miller has cared for pets at Canyon Pet Hospital since June 2008 and purchased Canyon in 2010 with her husband, Chris. A native of Colorado, she attended the University of Colorado - Boulder, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1996. In 2004, Dr. Miller earned her Master's Degree in Biology from the University of Colorado - Denver. She continued her veterinary education at Colorado State University, where she was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Dr. Miller's professional interests include internal and emergency medicine, surgery, pain management, and acupuncture.

When she's not at the hospital, Dr. Miller enjoys reading, swimming and traveling with her husband, Christopher, and her daughters, Madeline and Zoe. She and her family enjoy the companionship of a number of animals, including dogs Roscoe, Molly, Buster and cats Bally and Patsy.

Dr. Lisa Ethridge

Dr. Lisa EthridgeOriginally from Lubbock, Texas, Dr. Ethridge came to Canyon Pet Hospital in September 2004. Before coming to Canyon Pet, she practiced medicine at Addison Animal Clinic in Twin Falls, Idaho from 1999 to 2004; and at Ark Animal Hospital in Heyburn, Idaho from 1996 to 1999. Dr. Ethridge attended Texas A&M University, and was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1992 and a second Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Science in 1994. She attended Texas A&M's College of Veterinary Medicine, and was awarded her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1996. Her professional interests include behavior medicine and training, reproductive work on dogs and working with wildlife—especially raptors.

Dr. Ethridge shares her home with 3 dogs of her own and varying French Bulldog fosters as they need her help. Her dogs are Kermit the Frog Dog, a French Bulldog, Wrinkle, a Shar Pei and Leonidas, a Bull mastiff. In her spare time she enjoys traveling to dog shows and competing with her dogs, singing in church, reading, and a serious addiction to the History Channel.

Dr. Jen Reed

Dr. Jen ReedDr. Reed has helped care for pets at Canyon Pet Hospital since August 2008. A native of North Carolina, Dr. Reed attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received her Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1999. She continued her education at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. While in veterinary school, she was named a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Frontiers in Veterinary Medicine Fellow in 2006. Dr. Reed is particularly interested in ophthalmology, cardiology, and animal legislation and public policy.

Dr. Reed's home is filled with pets, and she enjoys the companionship of her cats Dirty, Duni, Nigel and Sami, and her two dogs, Marley and Chloe. Outside the hospital, she enjoys mountain biking, cooking, knitting and listening to live music. She also has a number of creative pursuits, including playing the guitar and making jewelry.

Dr. Jessica McKenna

Dr. Darcy FlemingDr. Jessica McKenna is a Flagstaff native, and is elated to have been afforded the opportunity to practice veterinary medicine in her hometown. While growing up in Flagstaff, she strove to be involved in all things animal-related, and her being a Flagstaff-area veterinarian has been a life-long dream. Dr. McKenna is proud to have joined Canyon Pet Hospital in July of 2011.

After graduating from Coconino High School, Dr. McKenna attended Fort Lewis College for her undergraduate studies. At Fort Lewis College, she received her Bachelor's Degree in General Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2007. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she also ran competitively for Division II Women's Cross Country. She then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2011, where she was individually recognized by the American Association of Feline Practitioners for her dedication, knowledge and care for feline patients. Dr. McKenna's professional interests include feline medicine, internal medicine, and animal welfare.

When not caring for the wonderful pets which abound in Flagstaff, Dr. McKenna enjoys running, hiking, and generally just being in the Flagstaff wilderness. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her husband, Kevin. Her furry family is composed of four rescue animals—two dogs (Basil and Ghost), and two cats (Kaelee and Clover).

Dr. Kim McGill

Dr. Darcy FlemingOriginally from Pennsylvania, Dr. McGill joined Canyon Pet Hospital in 2011. She attended St. George's University and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Upon graduation Dr. McGill moved to Arizona and practiced at Kachina Animal Hospital in Dewey, Arizona until moving to Flagstaff. Dr. McGill attended University of Delaware and College of the Atlantic and then worked as a whale researcher for several years. While in Bar Harbor, Maine she found a job working as a veterinary technician and discovered she loved the profession. Dr. McGill returned to school and was awarded her Bachelors of Science at the University of Southern Maine in 2001 prior to embarking to vet school. She loves providing compassionate care for dogs and cats but has a special interest in exotics as they allow her to combine her skills in both medicine and zoology.

Dr. McGill and her husband Bob share their home with many pets—dogs and cats in plenty, as well several exotics—African Spurred Tortoise, Green Iguana, Lovebird, Guinea Pig and freshwater fish. Free time interests include gardening, hiking, disc golf and traveling.
